I'd like to pass on well wishes to Manchester United's Darren Fletcher. The 27 year old Scottish international announced today that he will be taking an extended break from football due to medical circumstances.
Fletcher has been diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis. It's a chronic bowel disease with no known cure. The symptoms include diarrhea, abdominal pain, blood loss, weight loss and fatigue. United's website commented that "Darren's continued desire to play and his loyalty to both his club and country has probably compromised the chances of optimizing his own health and fitness."
Hopefully Darren can recover and get back to football for both Manchester United and Scotland.
