Dynamo's Cameron Finally Seals Move to Stoke

Houston's Geoff Cameron (center) has secured a move to Stoke City of the EPL

Good news today for people who like seeing our quality American players head overseas to compete in Europe.   Houston Dynamo and US International Defender Geoff Cameron has finally completed his move to Stoke City of the Barclay's Premier League as his UK Work Permit came through today.  According to Sky Sports, Stoke manager Tony Pulis and chief executive Tony Scholes were able to successfully lobby an appeal hearing today in Manchester.

Cameron is now cleared to join the Potters, which is a relief for them as the new EPL season is little more than a week away.  According to Cameron, Stoke plan to try him at both center back and center mid.  Either is fine by him, as long as he can get the minutes to work into the club.

Cameron is quoted as saying...

“It’s surreal because it’s been a dream of mine since I was a little kid. I think I ended my career with the Dynamo with a pretty good game. I thought that was one of my best games of the season against D.C. United [July 15] and now I want to go abroad and try the UK and get that experience and test my ability.”

Best of luck to Mr. Cameron as he embarks on the new phase of his career.  He should do well at Stoke, as he seems to the type of hard working, slightly underrated player that Pulis loves to work on.
