Goal.com: Montreal Impact Make First MLS Signing for 2012

Goal.com is reporting tonight that the Expansion Montreal Impact have made their first signing toward their 2012 MLS squad. The club has announced that they have signed former Inter Milan defender Nelson Rivas. Rivas will not be a designated player.

He appeared for 28 matches for Inter Milan, and his time as the property of the Italian giants included a loan stint at Italian side Livorno and Ukranian club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. Before moving to Europe he played for River Plate in Argentina.

Rivas is 28 years old and has one cap for the Colombian national team.
