Match Thoughts: Toronto FC vs. LA Galaxy

What are my thoughts on this one? Not very much. Pretty dull. As Kyle Martino commented on his twitter, both teams lacked inspiration up top.

Certainly LA had the better chances. Frei made a great save in the first two minutes for TFC, but Galaxicos couldn't do anything but hit woodwork the rest of the evening.

Toronto had a couple of looks in the second half., the best being on 88 minutes when Ricketts was called into action to make a great save off of a header that preserved a point for LA. For the most part though, it just looked like two boxers dancing around each other.

TFC will claim they got a point versus one of the MLS's big fish. True enough, but at home they should have controlled tempo more and had they taken their second half chances, they might have won.

LA will claim that getting a point on the road is a big plus in the MLS standings. That's also true enough, but they really should have picked up all three here, and despite the fact that they had the better chances, it just came across as another uninspired performance without Landon Donovan. Even when he's healthy, Landycakes can't play all 11 positions. LA needs somebody to step up, and I'll say it again, If Angel wants his DP money, he ought to actually do something. Perhaps more importantly, Beckham will miss the next match because of yellow card accumulation, and Juninho saw red and he will miss the next match too. Bad discipline and cards are already catching up with LA.
