Puddle's MLS Preview : Saturday, 4/16 matches

This weekend we have another full slate of MLS matches after the most recent midweek matches gave us kind of a mixed bag. Here's what I'm looking forward to in the upcoming matches this weekend.

Philadelphia Union vs Seattle Sounders FC, Saturday, 4:00PM EDT.
Philly will try to hold on to the top spot in the East as the Sounders come to town. I always love watching Philly play, and I'm kind of bummed that I'm gonna be missing the first half of this one at while I'm at work. Needless to say, I'm gonna fire up Match Day Live as soon as I walk in the door. The Union struggled for a decent part of the match against NY last week, but found a way to win. Seattle is looking a lot better, starting to score goals and Keller still looks solid in goal. Two questions though: Can Le Toux be more of a factor for Philly and can the Seattle defense limit the amount of cracks the Philly attack gets at Keller?

Toronto FC vs. DC United, Saturday, 7:00 PM EDT.
Don't look now, but TFC has been grinding out some results. I know I didn't expect it. Sure they had the luck of the wood work against LA during the week, but in the end, only a Ricketts save kept them from 3 points against Beckham and company. I don't know, but I'm thinking TFC might sneak up on some folks this year, even without DeRo. As for DC, the biggest question is this: Can they score on anything besides a PK? They looked pretty anemic against LA last weekend. We'll see what happens. Hope CD9 can spark some more for DC from open play.

Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Chivas USA, Saturday, 7:00 PM EDT.
The Whitecaps return home to Empire field after being but to the sword by the Dynamo in Houston last weekend. The 'Caps definitely have a bit of a home field advantage, and watching Camilo is always fun. My guess is they'll look to take out their frustrations on Chivas, who have picked up two draws after dropping their first two, but that match against the Crew last weekend just sucked all around. Hopefully Vancouver will at least keep it entertaining. DeMerit is questionable for Vancouver and Bowen is out for Chivas. Yawn.

NY Red Bulls vs. San Jose Earthquakes, Saturday, 7:30 PM EDT
Paging Thierry Henry? Mr. Henry? NY was supposed to dominate with Henry along side JPA when he showed up last year. Didn't happen, and Angel took his La-Z-Boy and went to LA to hang out with Becks. So Red Bulls go out and get DeRo, and everybody is so confident that they start arguing about whether the Supporter's Shield or the MLS Cup is more important, cause, you know, they're obviously going to win them both. Then they go out and play like the same old Red Bulls. DeRo looks pretty good, Henry looks like.....he came here cause Europe was tired of him. Meanwhile, Wondolowski and Dawson will be hoping Tim Ream kicks some more balls right to them so they can add to their goal tallies.

Columbus Crew vs. Sporting KC, Saturday, 7:30 EDT

Umm.....who wants to watch this one? The team formerly sponsored by Glidden takes on the team with the logo that's a blatant rip off of the Eastern Conference logo. That's literally the most interesting thing I can think of to say about this, other than Omar Bravo is out for KC. However, if KC can play the way they did in the first half against Vancouver, there might be something worth seeing here.
