Match Blurb: Vancouver Whitecaps Vs. Philadelphia Union

Not a lot of goals in this one, but it sure was fun to watch. Say what you like about Vancouver, but they're in every game. It was great to see them get their second win. I love the city of Vancouver, having been there a few times. So, I have a bit of a soft spot for the 'Caps.

Vancouver really took it to Philly in the first half. DeMerit blocked a half chance for Le Toux early, but the rest of the half was all Vancouver. Rochat took a ball from Chiumiento and laced it into the back of the net to score the game's only goal in the 12 minute, 1-0 to Vancouver.

Both sides had chances in the second half. Both teams' main threats, Hassli and Le Toux got off nice shots, but neither team could find the back of the net. The momentum swung back and forth a few times, but the Whitecaps held on for a 1-0 win, their second of the season. It also snapped an MLS record 14 game winless streak. Congrats to them, and I really hope they build on it, just not against RSL. For the Union, they need to figure out how to score goals.
