The FA have confirmed that City will not appeal the recent four match ban handed down to Mario Balotelli. Balotelli was in hot water after appearing to do his best Pepe impression by stomping on Tottenham's Scott Parker during last weekend's EPL encounter.
Balotelli missed today's Carlign Cup semi-final 2nd leg against Liverpool. He will also miss EPL clashes with Everton, Fulham, and Villa.
City questioned Referee Howard Webb's statement that he did not see the offense. Balotelli's loud mouth agent said Webb, who refereed the 2010 World Cup Final as well the Champion's League Final, should be banned for life and accused the English of "not protecting Mario."
My take on all of this is that Balotelli is his own worst enemy. For all of the flare and excitement he brings to a match, he just can't seem to settle down and play within the rules. It's a pity, he's such a bright talent.
Oh, and yes, I think the ban is perfectly justified.
