All summer long Chelsea have been chasing Modric from Spurs to bolster their midfield. After all, we've got like almost every striker known to man. Well, Tottenham didn't want to sell him and risk slipping back to irrelevance, which they might do anyway.
So new coach Villas Boas decided to go the Spanish route. The Blues have agreed to terms with Valencia for the sale of Spanish International Juan Mata. The deal, subject to a medical, is rumored to be around 43 million dollars. The transfer appears to be imminent. I hope so!
Mata scored 8 goals for Valencia last year and is a product of the Real Madrid youth system.
Time will tell if this move ends the push for Modric.
