UEFA announced today that Turkish Champion Fenerbache has been withdrawn from the Champions League. This comes as a result of a match-fixing allegation, suggesting that some of the matches which lead them to the title last year may have been fixed. At this stage, the investigation is ongoing. However, UEFA had already threatened to kick them out of the league and void all of their results if the charges proved true.
The action came from the Turkish FA itself. UEFA has not announced how they will replace Fenerbache yet, even though the group stage draw is tomorrow.
