SKC 'Keeper Nielsen Hit In Head With Object From Stands

There was a scary moment at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park in KC Wednesday night, despite the home team's 3-1 drubbing of the Portland Timbers. Shortly after Graham Zusi's 25th minute goal, an object was thrown from the stands and struck SKC 'keeper Jimmy Nielsen in the head.

Nielsen's hands went to his head and he was down on the pitch for approximately 4 minutes receiving attention. The object turned out to be a piece of an Omar Bravo Bobblehead doll, given away free at the stadium as part of a promotion.

Nielsen continued to play and looked to be ok. I really hope is. ESPN Soccernet is reporting that two individuals were taken into custody in connection with the incident. Lets hope these individuals were stupid goons, not actual MLS fans of either side. We don't need this in our game. It happens though, as unfortunately, I've seen several objects thrown onto the pitch at Rio Tinto as well. Grow up people.

  1. Things that are fine to be thrown on the pitch, A) Streamers (If thrown right), B) Confetti, and C)I don't mind Smoke Bombs, but idiots like the above would probably throw them at the person and not around the person, so I know why these aren't allowed.

Next up we will throw Piss Jugs (TPBs reference), and batteries.

Then we'll see Fences erected around the field, ffs, we don't want this AMERICA.
