I was too busy cheering last night at the RIOT to keep any detailed notes about the match, but here are my general thoughts about the 0-0 draw.
First off, for RSL. Javier Morales was indeed missed. We tried corners and set pieces with Warner, Will Johnson, Andy Williams, and Nelson Gonzalez. However, none were really good enough, and we had a lot of uncharacteristic give-aways in midfield. Williams didn't have his best game, but the energy of the club certainly went up after he came in. However, the defense was on their A-game and Rimando was awesome in goal to help assure us a point.
Houston also played pretty well. They're a big strong team. Tally Hall had a great night in goal as well, but was helped more by RSL shooting off target than anything else. Will Bruin was totally silent next to Mr. Olave.
All in all I think it was a fair result. Not the result I wanted, but fair, RSL had a couple of great chances late but couldn't capitalize. We'll see where we go from here.
